Progetto 58 is a series of objects in Gray Bardiglio and brass. These designs were my submission to an invitation based contest held by Piba Marmi, an Italian company that specializes in stone products with an innovation based approach.
Progetto 58 is a reference to the Gruppo 58 art movement born in Naples in 1958. One of my all time favorite artists, Lucio Del Pezzo, was among the founders of this group.
The contest to which this project was submitted asked for a family of at least four objects with the possibility of expanding it. So with that in mind I designed a table lamp, a wall lamp, a desk mirror, a door stopper, a book end, and two containers for small objects (one serving also as tray).
I normally do not include project drawings, but since only three of the objects were actually selected for production, here is an extract from my posters in which all designs are shown together.
